2016 – Local Motors launched the world’s first cognitive autonomous shuttle in National Harbor, MD.
2016 – The goal of this collaboration was to help Airbus Group deliver aeronautics and space solutions for the challenges posed by societal issues such as environmental protection, mobility, defense and security, and safety.
2015 – The winner of our Project Redacted challenge in 2015, Swim was designed by Kevin Lo. The entry showcased the many benefits of Direct Digital Manufacturing (DDM), including the ability to create a completely customizable vehicle.
2015 – At the North American International Auto Show, Local Motors printed, assembled and then gave the world a ride in the first 3D printed car.
2014 – Local Motors launched the world’s first 3D-Printed Car, the Strati.
2013 – Originally a gravity trike concept, the Verrado evolved into an electric-powered trike with a hub motor added to a downhill trike along with a disc brake for the perfect amount of acceleration and braking control.
2012 – 1st co-creation platform partners collaborated with Local Motors across a wide number of industries. The most famous resulted in the creation and deployment of the DOMINO’s Ultimate Delivery Vehicle (UDV).
2011 – Local Motors’ second co-created vehicle was developed in partnership with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The XC2V was designed to meet two missions: combat reconnaissance and combat delivery and evacuation.
2010 – Local Motors launched their first microfactory in Phoenix.
2009 – The Rally Fighter was unleashed, rendering most who see it speechless.
2007 – Jay Rogers launched Local Motors.
