2008 – Jay Rogers Launches Local Motors.
2009 – The Rally Fighter in unleashed, rendering most who see it speechless.
2009 – Guinness Book of World Records recognizes the Rally Fighter as the world’s first co-created production car.
2010 – Local Motors launches their first microfactory in Phoenix.
2011 – Local Motors’ second co-created vehicle is developed in partnership with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The XC2V was designed to meet two missions: combat reconnaissance and combat delivery and evacuation.
2012 – 1st co-creation platform partners collaborate with Local Motors across a wide number of industries. Perhaps the most famous of which, resulted in the creation and deployment of the DOMINO’s Ultimate Delivery Vehicle (UDV).
2013 – Local Motors and GE create FirstBuild, illustrating the success and importance of rapid innovation through co-creation and micro-production. The Paragon induction cooktop meets crowd-funding goals in mere hours.
2013 – Army CoCreate was a six-month proof-of-concept effort with the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force (REF). The goal: to engage a broad, open audience to rapidly tackle real military challenges.
2014 – Local Motors launched the world’s first 3D-Printed Car, the Strati.
2015 – At the North American International Auto Show, Local Motors prints, assembles and then gives the world a ride in the first 3D printed car.
2016 – The goal of this collaboration was to help Airbus Group deliver aeronautics and space solutions for the challenges posed by societal issues such as environmental protection, mobility, defense and security, and safety.
2016 – We launched FUSE with GE, an open platform meant to speed up development of new products by inviting curious minds to collaborate on solving technical challenges.
2016 – Local Motors launches the world’s first cognitive autonomous shuttle in National Harbor, MD.
