DARPA XC2V: FLYPMODE

created March 21, 2011, 5:03 p.m.
Yesterday morning, right on time, the XC2V FLYPMode's body showed up at the Local Motors Micro-Factory. As you saw in previous posts, the transformation from nothing to a full blown fiberglass body was a very rapid process, and we were extremely excited to receive the body. Upon its arrival it was unwrapped, and then placed on the chassis to check for fitment issues. While the body fit pretty well for the most part, there is still lots of work to do, and the entire build team and engineering crew are busy working almost exclusively on the XC2V for the next 2 weeks. But the body looks very cool on the body and even Abby, the shop dog, seems to like it!
